Good Morning Forum,
If we are performing an excision of a scar on the cheek would we use 11440-11446?

Depends

This will depend on what is actually done.

11440-11446 may certainly be used (along with intermediate repair if that was performed).

On the other hand .... if closure required a flap (adjacent tissue transfer), then you only code THAT (because the excision is included in those codes).

If the repair of the surgically created defect is documented as a complex repair, then you code ONLY that code.

So, without the actual documentation I cannot tell which is the correct code.
