Excision of calcium deposits?

Doc did an arthroplasty 28285 but also did an excision of pyrophosphate crystals on same digit for calcium deposits, isn't this bundled into the arthroplasty code? If not would I use CPT 29999 for this?
 
If the crystals were on the same proximal phalanx, I would think it would be considered part of the 28285....just a thought. Esp. if the surgeon didn't have to make a separate incision.
