My spine surgeon performed a laminectomy to excise intraspinal lesions.
Then he did this " A curette was then used to remove as much tumor as I could safely reach outside the spine in the chest cavity. We used a pistol-grip pituitary and a curette to debulk this tumor as much as possible. There was still tumor noted dorsal to the ribs and I used a Cobb to dissect this out just to separate nicely from the musculature, and then I used a Cobb and a curette to scrape this off the posterior aspect of the ribs debulking this significantly. "
How do I code for this excision of tumor (it's metastatic) outside the spinal canal ?
