Wiki Excisions- hints, tips, tricks, etc.

Just wondering if there is anyone out there that has any hints, tips or tricks (or links to articles) when it comes to coding excisions of lesions, lipomas, etc. For example, the difference between the CPT 11XXX or 2XXXX.

If the excision is only skin level use 11XXX but if it goes into the muscle use 2XXXX. It depends on the depth.
 
Excision of lesions

Make sure the excision is for a lipoma or a tumor and not a cyst. If the excision goes through the subq use the codes from 2xxxx series of codes.
