Our physician did an I&D of a perirectal abscess & performed a fistulotomy. The following day the patient was having post-operative bleeding. Physician states he "performed surgical site exploration with suture ligation of artery, cautery, and application of hemostatic agent", and he's wondering what CPT this would be.
Any ideas?
He specifically states in the note "an artery with a small, pinpoint opening was identified, this was cauterized. I then suture ligated this vessel & applied hemostatic agent"
Thanks for your time, I appreciate any replies!
