My provider performed a "three quadrant external and internal hemorrhoidectomy using LigaSure" in the actual body of the OP report it is stated that the three quadrants were identified at 10, 2 and 7 o'clock positions and these were external and internal hemorrhoids. These were elevated with the Allis clamp and starting with the external portion were removed with the LigaSure device down through the internal hemorrhoid portion in all three areas.

I am just wanting to make sure I code this correctly as I have never been a fan of hemorrhoidectomy coding. My thoughts were I would have to do 46946 for the internal and 46999 for the external due to way the hemorrhoids were removed. Can someone tell me if I'm on the right path.
