Hello,
Does anyone know the external cause code to use for "foreign body entering through eye" and "foreign body entering through ear?" All we have been able to come up with is FB entering through skin. Would we use a "contact with" code?

Thank you so much for any help

Hi Medicode3:)
It is listed in there by checking ICD10 index first. Eye FB is dx S00.25 and ear FB is dx S00.45 which are superficial /minor problem. Whereas dx T15.9 is parts of eye with foreign body. And dx T16 .9 is ear FB, CPT 69200 or 92502 per provider s documentation. If injury of these organs list how it occurred& where ...ie: car accident, walk into wall, sports injury, ETC. I hope helped you some on this issue.
