If documentation states only "alcohol abuse" or "tobacco use" what are the correct F codes to use? Under F10.1 Alcohol abuse it excludes alcohol use, unspecified-F10.9-; and in order to use that code it must be documented by provider and it must be associated with a mental or behavioral disorder.
