Hi there:

Can I code/bill for a failed ESI and the successful ESI?

The rad used the L6 for an approach for a percutaneous ESI--once the needle was advanced; the patient complained of severe pain in that area and in the rt lower leg; the rad withdrew the needle and used a different needle and advanced from the L5 to the area he wanted to get to near the L6.

Can I code this as 62311 & 62311-53?

Please advise and thanks
