What code would I use for a false positive Hepatitis C?
 
Was this a result on a test? A diagnosis on a note?If it's a result on a test, code abnormal lab test.If it's on a progress note, code the symptoms.There is no code for 'false positive'. They don't have the disease, so don't append that diagnosis.
 
yes this was the diagnosis for a visit. Pt came in to discuss labs drawn at the hospital ( false positive was the result ) and had new labs ordered. Pt has no sypmtoms.
