The family practice physician consults with family members of patients in the hosptial and nursing home over the phone and at bedside. Can I bill out for over the phone consults? At bedside I'm finding codes for nursing home 99304-99310 and hospital 99221-99233. dx code V65. ??? Any input is greatly appreciated!
 
I believe Medicare requires face-to face time with the patient in order for it to be billable. Anything else would just be considered "coordination of care" which is not a stand alone thing to bill for. Wondering if anyone else has info on this though.
