If a Family Practice physician joins an established OBGYN group and has an active state license can the Supervising MD of OBGYN sign the FP MDs reports and bill the FPs visits under the OBGYN MD name/numbers for ALL age groups until the FP MD gets their own providers numbers with payors?

Thanks in advance.:)

Not in NH you cant. I would check with your payers, but I am quite sure your provider has to be fully credentialled before you can bill. The good news is that some payers will allow you to retroactively bill.

If he's already licensed in your state and has been practicing, it might just be that you have to update his service locations with the payer. That is much quicker than having to credential a brand new (or foreign-born) provider.
