Does anyone actually bill for the fecal occult blood tests (guaiac) performed in the exam room as part of the physical exam? We use CPT 82270 when the patient is sent home with a triple card for screening and CPT 82272 when 1-3 cards are used for diagnostic purposes. There doesn't appear to be an appropriate CPT code to bill for a single determination done as a screening during a physical exam. I'm thinking that we may not be able to even charge for this. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks.
