Can someone tell me do we use the 93571 for a fractional flow reserve during a renal angiography, or is there another code specific to when we perform renal angiography as oppsed to coronary angiography.:o

Hi there,

Not sure I competely understand your question but I'm gonna try. I would not use 93571 unless your test/study includes 'pharmacologically induced stress.' There is a specific code for renal angiography; 75722 - unilateral renal angiography OR 75724 - bilateral renal angiography. Must be SELECTIVE catheter placements in order to bill for these.

Does that help?

For ffr in the renal artery there is not a code to accurately describe. You would have to use unlisted code 93799.
