I'm sure that this has been addressed, but can't find the answer. For the first visit to comfirm the pregancy, can we charge an office visit?

As long as the pregnancy has not been confirmed by blood or ultrasound, we bill an office call and urine pregnancy test to confirm. We have had patients with positive home tests, but when they come to our office, they are in fact NOT pregnant. This office call is billed outside the gobal fee schedule.

I was told that unless the ACOG is initiated you can charge for the E and M visit-I use dx code V72.42-pregnancy exam or test , positive result.( as long as they are pregnant ).
