I have an incident where a patient was seen for their annual physical and the FIT 82274 was done in the office (same time as px appt). The FIT was positive and so the patient was then sent home with another FIT Mailer kit. Our office will bill for the physical and the FIT test done in the office, and when the patient returns the FIT Mailer test we will then submit the FIT Mailer test to insurance (the date of the FIT Mailer will be that of the date of the px--we charge the day the patient was given it) (Note if patient never returns the kit, it does not go to insurance, its patients responsibility..) My question is though...since two FIT tests are being done- would a modifer 76 be added to one to show that a repeat test was ordered and done?

I'd appreciate anyone's help or guidance.Thank you
