Hello!
I have an exploratory laparotomy performed under anesthesia by the surgeon (ASA 00790) and the anesthesiologist says HE performed a bronchoscopy and wants to bill flat fee 94799 in addition to the 00790. I looked the the RVG guide and 94799 is listed and is I.C. as far as units go.
Is this 94799 billable?

Bronchoscopy or fiberoptic intubation?

If bronchoscopy.......why the bronch?......therapeutic or diagnostic? Must be documented note including medical necessity for the bronch.

If fiberoptic intubation (for difficult airway), it is included in the 00790.
