J11.1 is for influenza NOS, flu laryngitis NOS, flu pharyngitis NOS, and flu with upper respiratory symptoms NOS
This said depends on documentation if any of the above symptoms were documented J11.1 or just code the symptoms

if a provider states "flu like symptoms", I would not code flu, I would code the specific symptoms.
"influenza - like disease" is still a disease and not a symptom.
the description of J11.1 is "influenza due to unidentified influenza virus with other respiratory manifestations"
