Hi all,

I am currently working in a Peds office and we just had this kiddo come in with a rock in their ear. The provider removed using irrigation. Can I use 69200 if irrigation was done?

Thanks.

Since 69200 is a surgical code then I believe you cannot charge for this when irrigation only was used. Instrumentation is neccessary when billing this code. Like the cerumen removal code 69210, lavage only is not enough to charge. I believe you would charge the appropriate E/M. Hope this helps. :)
