If a patient comes in thinking they have a foreign body like a piece of glass or a splinter and the doctor makes an incision and explores the wound but nothing is found can you charge anything for this?:confused:
 
I have encountered this before in my setting. Here is how we handled the situation. We used the appropriate code for the removal and appended modifier 52.

Any other opinions?
