Wiki Fracture care in the ED

If the x-ray shows NO fracture before the ED physician treats patient, but the physician's final diagnosis is fracture, do you code fracture care w/o manipulation?

I'd return that chart for clarification. You don't want to go with the X-Ray interp alone. Also remember even if the provider confirms it was a fracture, you can code for fracture care only if restorative treatment was provided in the ED.

90-day global

Also, fracture care codes carry a 90-day global period. Is the ED going to provide the follow-up care? I think not.
