A new patient presented into our office with a fracture. After examination the doctor decides to perform OP surgery and advises the patient to return back for pre op. He stated no OR date or time and no pre op date at this visit. I was under the impression that if the doctor decides to perform surgery on a patient you don't bill fracture care. But when the patient presented back to clinic a month later he states nothing about surgery. He applies a long leg cast and advises the patient to follow up in clinc in 2 weeks. Should i start billing the fracture care this day since this is the first time he actually treats the fracture ?
