If a patient has a nasal fracture and has had surgery to correct it for the follow up visit can you still code it as nasal fracture or would you need to use different dx code since surgery has been done to correct this?

After the surgery you'll need to use the subsequent care code for the fracture instead of the active care code. So for example, if you're fracture was initially coded as S02.2XXXA, then after the corrective surgery the routine follow-up care will be coded with S02.XXXD.
