So I know that there are excludes 1 notes with open punctures for open fractures because the fracture caused the wound. But what if; in the etiology of the injury, the wound came before the fracture. Can I still code the open wounds caused by the gun shot that caused the fracture? Any explanation and guidance would be greatly appreciated!
