Wiki Fracture Treatment - Reapply Cast

Hi there!

This is a new situation for me so I was hoping for some input. We placed a cast on a patient's leg due to a break and billed out the fracture treatment code (90 day global). Patient is returning to the office a week later because the leg's swelling has gone down significantly and we need to redo the cast due to discomfort. My question is: would the application of cast be part of global or a separate charge? I am finding mixed reviews on the my internet searches so hoping for input from this community.

Casts applied after the initial one can be billed. You will need to append a 58 modifier to indicate a staged procedure.
