Help...one of my providers is wanting to bill a second initial hospital encounter but I'm not sure it is correct.
The patient was admitted to the hospital on 2/21 to orthopedic services and was discharged from otho and admitted to SNF on 3/4. The POS as facility are the same; only a bed change. My provider was the admitting physician on 2/21 and followed through discharge from SNF on 3/28. He charged an initial admit on 2/21, a subsequent visit on 3/4 and is wanting to charge another initial on 3/5 when he saw the patient for the first time after her registration to the SNF.
