I have recently had an interesting question asked about coding G0101 (cervical or vaginal cancer screening; pelvic and clinical breast examination). If the patient refuses the breast exam or it's not indicated (i.e., patient is 92 yo) and the physician documents this, can we code the G0101?

Medicare requires 7 out of 11 specific elements for this code of which the breast exam is one. Would appreciate your thoughts/guidance.
