I would like to inquire as to if critical access hospitals are required to bill G0461 and G0462 in 2014. Medicare has declined the AMA recommendations to bill 88342 and 88343 and instead created G0461 and G0462. However, our practice is unsure as to if the critical access hospital follows the same guidelines. It seems that a CAH would also utilize G0461 and G0462 but I am unable to find any specific guidelines. Thanks for the help!!!
 
Critical Care facilities are not exempt from the change to Medicare IHC coding. G0461 and G0462 are to be submitted for Immunohistochemistry labs in place of 88342 and 88343.

I don't have any documentation however, you can call your provider line to Medicare for confirmation.
