Is it necessary to still report G8553 in 2013 if you sucessfully reported the required e-scripts in 2012?

Yes. E-RX is an annual requirement.

Thanks Kathy, are the requirements 10 rx's by June 30th or 25 rx's ?

Is it still 25 if you are not trying to get the incentive, just to avoid the penalty? I thought it was only 10 to avoid the penalty. If you are a meaningful user isnt there now an exemption you can apply for that makes it possible for you to avoid the penalty without having to file the G8553?
