Medicare requires unlisted 43999, commercials carriers request documentation when this code is used.ACS suggest using E/M code w/ explination in box 19 of the 1500 form... Does anyone have any other suggestion?
 
We use S2083 for all commercial carriers, Humana reimburses alot better for this code than any other ins co that I've seen.For MCR, we do use the 43999 and put a note in box 19 on the 1500 form. we do not have to add a note for the S2083, some times the comm co will ask for office notes but not usually.
