When performing the paraesophageal/hiatal hernia repair with fundoplication, the provider also did an anterior gastropexy suturing the distal gastric body to the anterior abdominal wall and wants to bill 43282 and 43659 together. It is my understanding that the gastropexy is a component of the more major surgery performed in this case and should not be billed separately. I have been searching for CMS, AAPC, AMA, or Academy of Surgeons or any coding verified guidelines supportive of this but having trouble locating any. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. Also, would it be appropriate coding to bill both?

Thanks for any help anyone can provide. I also posted under General surgery forum as well.
