Can anyone explain about files in GEM and how we will use it? :):):)

Hi Rinta,

The GEMs are just reference files. The forward mapping files have the ICD-9 codes and some of the ICD-10 codes they map to and the backward files are the reverse: they will tell you ICD-10-CM codes and some of the ICD-9 codes they map to. They are not all-inclusive mappings. They will give you an idea of some of the ICD-10 codes you may be seeing for the ICD-9 codes you use currently.
