The MBS I work for has just taken on a general surgeon. The biggest challenge we are facing is knowing which codes are inclusive to each other. We have AAOS books for referencing our Ortho procedures & they're great. Are there books availble like this or other reference material for General Surgery?

I use Ingenix, General Surgery/Gastroenterology coding companion, it will help you with bundle issues

I use CodingToday.com and their bundling matrix as it has an NCCI edit tool. Before that I used CMS' NCCI edit files.

Be careful with the coding companions as they are peoples interpretation of CPT and can lead you in the wrong direction or eliminate the correct code because they don' think it performed that way. If it's not from the AMA it just someones thoughts on what the code means.
