There was a Medicare proposed rule to do away with the 10 - 90 global periods. Do you know if this rule was finalized and becomes effective Jan 1, 2016

I did a google search and found a proposed rule back in 2014 to remove global starting in 2017 but cant find any information after that so I assume that means nothing ever came of it. The 2016 fee schedule has already come out and it has global periods still listed.

Transforming Global surgery days to -0- is proposed to begin:
10 day in 2017
90 day in 2018

According to a webinar I listened to with Peach New Media by Marvel J Hammer she stated that "Section 523(a) of the MACRA of 2015 added a new paragraph at section 1848(c)(8) of the Act that prohibits the Secretary form implementing the policy established in CY 2015 PFS final rule that would have transitioned all 10 day and 90 day global surgical packages to o-day global period."
