I have a scenario. My Dr has a patient in the global period. In that period the patient presents to the ER with possible infection. My doc is called down to ER to investigate and finds no infection or problem.

I say this is included in the global period but since he was called down is there any documentation that shows that it would still be inclusive to show him?

I understand his thinking as he took time out of his schedule to see this patient but I don't see how we can capture. Always like a second opinion. Thank you. :)

I understand where he is coming from, but the ER eval for "possible infection" is global. If he had found an infection and eval/treated it, he could have coded an E&M with mod -24 and used an infection DX. But he didn't, so it's just one of those situations
