We have a 4 physician OB-GYN clinic and they rotate on call for weekends. My question is if the on call physician delivers a baby for another physician in the group who does the delivery get billed under. I have been told it goes under the physician who provided the ante partum care. Now there are questions as to if this correct coding. There is an agreement between the physicians for coverage. The hospital of course bills under the physician who delivered the baby and that we have to bill the same to be compliant. My impression is if they are of the same group and Tax ID number the global package may not be split. Any help in this area would be appreciated.
