I have a MCR patient who had surgery started but discontinued after anesthesia because of other medical conditions. We used a 53 modifier on the surgery and everything was paid as expected. However, she had an E&M appointment 6 weeks later to discuss a second attempt at the surgery. It was paid by insurance however she states it should have been in the global and therefore no copay. Is there a 90 day global for discontinued surgery?
