Can you code for groshong or medi port during global period? If so would you use mod 78 and ICD-9 v58.69. Example: patient has surgery and finds out they have cancer then they come back in for mediport placement.

Global period does NOT cover procedures

The global period covers E&M services. In general it does not apply to additional procedures that may be required. You will need the appropriate modifier. I would think that the -58 modifier would applicable in the scenario you listed.
