My question pertains to global surgery codes. We have a multi specialty practice. Both Dermatology and Plastic Surgery.
If the patient see the Plastic surgeon for breast reconstruction and during the global period the patient sees one of our Dermatology providers for a suspicious lesion that was biopsied. Are the E/M and biopsy services in the global period for the plastic surgery. Both providers under the same tax ID#.

The E/M and biopsy can be billed. It is not related to the reconstruction surgery. You will want to use modifier 25 on the E/M code and possibly modifier 79 on the biopsy code.
