A young patient came in with his mother because the glue from planter wart procedure done at another facility came off. (do not know why she did not go back there). This provider just re-glued the skin -without the repair. There is not actually a procedure note. He just cleaned the skin and reglued. I do think this is just included in his E/M, but he is billing 12001!
In the exam there is a notation of 1cm wound on the ball of the foot. however this is not a procedure note. He did not notate reapproximation of the edges....just 'wound cleansed. Glue reapplied."

It looks fine to me based off the AMA CPT guidelines for repair codes.

Use the codes in this section to designate wound closure utilizing sutures, staples, or tissue adhesives (eg, 2-cyanoacrylate), either singly or in combination with each other, or in combination with adhesive strips. Wound closure utilizing adhesive strips as the sole repair material should be coded using the appropriate E/M code.

Adhesive strips only would bundle into E&M but skin glue like dermabond qualifies as simple repair of open wound. Although there is a 10 day global on the initial surgery so that could cause problems.
