We are having a debate in the office as to if GP/GO modifier is strictly for Medicare only. I am under the impression that it is a reporting modifier and that it can go out on any charge regardless of commercial/medicaid/medicare.

In my office we use it for all payers and the modifiers are hard coded into our system. If the patient has a split PT and OT limit services can applied to the wrong accumulation if you do not apply them and payers don't typically reject the claims even if they don't require the modifiers since its just informational in some cases.
