With Preventive Medicine, Group Counseling, what is the definition of a "Group setting"? How many people is that and what do they have to have in common?

The definition of "group setting" varies among payers. The individuals in the group need to have something in common though, but not necessarily specific to a condition. For example, there may be group therapy for individuals with related mental illnesses, but they don't have to all be diagnosed with "depression". In contrast, if it's group therapy for alcohol abuse or dependence, then the individuals would all have to have that condition obviously.

We do home visits to new moms and babies. We have been told that we could use a group counseling code for these visits, but does one baby and one mom constitute a group?

Thanks,
Laurie

You wouldn't actually be counseling the baby so I would not call that a group. Would you bill both the mom and the baby separately for the same visit? That may be a better way to look at it.
