Our office is located in PA. We have a patient that has BCBS as primary, all deductible, once deductible is met the patient is responsible for 20%. However, the patient has Gateway as a secondary w/a copay of $2. I've been receiving conflicting information regarding collecting only the $2 copay from the patient or that we are not to collect anything from the patient. I have looked on our Medicaid website for guidance and have found nothing. I have also called Gateway directly and the reps I speak to have no idea. I have also been advised to wait for the secondary's EOB to find out if we should be collecting, but how do I know if they are processing correctly or if the secondary made a mistake with processing if I don't know to collect or not to collect. Thanks in advance for any insight.
