HI,

Our clinic owns the equipment and so we bill 76816 as tc/26 full. However, provider also bills an E/M with only stating counseling done and 50% of time spent. Can this be billed with an e/m when only interpreting what was seen in the ultrasound? Please advise. Thanks.
 
I say yes, if the provider documents that face-to-face counseling was rendered after the U/S findings with a plan of care for future treatment. Add modifier 25 to E/M
