I have been billing a limited ultrasound 76857 (instead of 76856) when my report states transabdominal images are technically limited by overlying bowel gas and transvaginal images were obtained for detailed evaluation of the adnexa and endometrial cavity. Another biller in the office states that we should still bill 76856 complete because the view are just limited by gas and it doesn't mean all the views were not completed. I would like some other opinions please.
