we have patients that come in for vaginal infections or upper respiratory infection and I would like to know how to document separately so we can get paid for the visit outside of the global package. thank you Lois
 
Document it as an E&M visit as thought she weren't pregnant. Make a chart note OUTSIDE of the OB record documenting all of the E&M components applicable. The reason for the visit would be primary diagnosis and the fact that she's pregnant (V22.2).

It's still no guarentee of payment, alot of insurances will still call it global.
