I need some assistance.
One of my physicians did an H&P on a patient in the hospital for surgery that was scheduled for 3 days later.
Patient ended up canceling the surgery and the physician wants to bill for the H&P? Am I able to do so? And what code would I use? An inpatient consult 99222?

Any suggestions?

If your physician is requested by some other physician for inpatient and your physician planned for a surgery after 3 days for medicare patient, then your physician can bill inpatient admit code 9922X with mod 57 with proper documentation of consultation. even if the patient dint turned up.
