Can anyone tell me the LCDs for perichondritis of right ear? My dermatologist excised from right ear and I can't get it to go through my clearinghouse. This code is in group 1 and I thought these were stand alone codes? I have tried R52 and L29.9. Please help

Could it be because you're using the unspecified code? Many payers are pushing back on unspecified codes now - they may want the more specific code for acute or chronic, whichever is appropriate and documented.
