My physician performed Hardware blocks to the left L3 pin and L4, L5 and S1 rods. He said he does not go into bone but places the needle right above the hardware sites. We are disagreeing how to code this. Since he did not go into the bone or even touch it wouldn't it be more of a trigger point code? Please Help!!
 
The webinar that I have seen for unlisted pain management procedures suggest 22899 for hardware blocks. There is not a code describing injecting for the relief of painful hardware.
