can I code J84.10 and J84.9 both together in risk adjustment coding? This is chronic conditions visit.

I would not. The J84.1- category is Other interstitial pulmonary diseases with fibrosis.

J84.10 is a specific type of interstitial pulmonary disease. I wouldn't add J84.9 Interstitial pulmonary disease unspecified, because you already have a specified form of interstitial pulmonary disease.

Thank you so much, that is what I thought- but the previous coder recommended it to my provider, and he does not want to remove from chart- I would try and make changes and mark my notes.
